Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a frontal attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, urging people to support BJP “for the development of the state”. Accusing the Nitish– Lalu combine for hatching a conspiracy against the NDA, he said, “Bihar has decided and anybody, including political pundits, can now predict the mood, this rally has broken all previous records”.
Realising that his DNA remark against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was being converted into an election campaign by the leaders of the grand secular alliance, he, in an effort to end all criticism against him, said, “People of Bihar are very intelligent and nobody can convince them by making false claims.”
The Parivartan Rally in Bhagalpur on Tuesday was the fourth in the run up to the Assembly polls.
Hitting the secular front for their remarks on the issue of special development package, he said, “They have been mocking me for the development package but as per 14th Finance Commission estimate, Bihar will be getting Rs 3.74 lakh crore within the span of five years”.
Claiming that his package announcement forced Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to announce a package of Rs 2.70 lakh crore, he said that Mr Kumar announced the package after calculating the annual Budget of Bihar which was Rs 55,000 crore and it adds up to Rs 2.70 lakh crore in five years.
While countering Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD Chief Lalu Yadav for their scathing attack against him during the Swabhiman Rally which was held in Patna on August 30, he said it was organised to deceive not only people of Bihar, but they also sacrificed the ideology of their mentors Ram Manohar Lohia, Jaiprakash Narain and Karpuri Thakur by joining hands with the Congress.
Responding to the accusations leveled against him by for failing to fulfil his promises in the last fifteen months, he said, “Time has come for them to give accounts of their work not mine, they should inform people about what they did in the last 25 years for the state. I will give my account in 2019”.
