BJP-RSS meet: OROP, Ram Mandir was not in agenda, says Ram Madhav

The meeting was conducted to discuss national matters like security, agriculture growth

New Delhi: Speaking after the RSS-BJP coordination committee meeting, Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Ram Madhav said here on Wednesday that the reports of One Rank One Pension and Ram Mandir being on the agenda of the meeting, were absolutely baseless and false.

"Ram Mandir and OROP was not a matter of discussion today, and any report saying that it happened is absolutely false. OROP is a government policy and its implementation is a government matter," Madhav told the reporters here.

He added that the meeting was not conducted to discuss Government's performance but to discuss national matters like national security, agriculture growth and social issues.

Meanwhile, top Union Ministers and leaders of BJP were in attendance at the 3-day meet, which is also likely to be attended by Narendra Modi. There was speculation that a host of issues including those confronting the Centre likely to come up for discussion.

The meeting acquired significance as it comes against the backdrop of ruling BJP involved in a bitter confrontation with the Opposition over the contentious land bill issue and the upcoming Bihar polls.
