Malware hits Apple accounts of 2,25,000 jailbroken iPhones

If you are using unmodified version of iOS, then there is nothing to worry about

A lot of iPhone users jailbreak their smartphone, which allows them to run apps and interface that Apple, otherwise, either does not allow or it charges a fees for them. Jailbreaking doesn’t just give greater access and freedom to user, but it also hands over a lot of control to the apps on the device. In a recent, jailbreak has caused more of harm than good to iPhone users.

As reported by Palo Alto Networks, a latest iOS malware ‘KeyRaider’ has stolen over 2,25,000 Apple accounts from jailbroken devices. The malware scooped up user’s account data to either give rogue users applications for free or held the phone for ransom.

If you are using unmodified version of iOS, then there is nothing to worry about. However, users with jailbroken phones need to watch out, since the malware is spreading fast due to the large number of potential targets for the hackers.
