Indrani, Sanjeev travelled to Raigad forest with dead Sheena wedged between them
Mumbai: In a blood-curdling revelation by the Mumbai Police, it has emerged that Indrani Mukerjea and her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna had propped up Sheena Bora's dead body between them in the rear seat of the car as they travelled from Mumbai to Pen, where they eventually disposed off the body.
According to reports, the police told the Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate Court that after strangulating Sheena in the car, her body was taken to the garage in Indrani and Peter Mukerjea's Worli residence in a similar fashion.
Her body was later stuffed in a suitcase and left in the boot of the car overnight. The next day, Khanna and Indrani, with her driver Shyamvar, removed the body from the suitcase and propped it up in the rear seat between them, so as to give the impression that Sheena was asleep. This was done to pass undetected at nakabandi.
Indrani, would also play the loving mother whenever they approached the traffic situations, pressing her dead daughter's head against her shoulder.
On reaching the Raigad forest, Sheena's body was stuffed haphazardly into the suticase, without locking it and set it on fire, using petrol.
Deven Bharti, joint commissioner of police (law and order), also told the court that Indrani and Khanna had planned to kill Mikhail Bora, Indrani's second son, on the same day but he managed a narrow escape.
