Several start-ups only on web

Lookser is venture which does not have any infrastructure input

Hyderabad: At the August Fest, one came across several start-ups that were operating just as platforms, without any infrastructure.

One of these platforms called ‘Vaave’ (with 150 registered institutes and 40,000 alumni) deals with alumni relations and is aimed at bringing institutions and their alumni in touch. Not only does it help the alumni reconnect with their alma mater, it also allows students to benefit from the alumni through guest lectures, internships etc.

“Also, when it comes to inviting alumni it becomes much easier through the Facebook-like social platform provided to each institution,” said Mr K. Sanjeev, CEO of Vaave.
Lookser is another such venture which does not have any infrastructure input from the entrepreneurs. The idea behind the website is to host several clothing and online shopping websites to mix and match the perfect look.

Tinmen sources food from home chefs and restaurants located near the customer and delivers the food free. It also provides a week menu.

Springboard, meanwhile, works on the idea of bringing together talent from across professions on the same table, to suit the needs of businesses and individuals. The start-up concentrates on networking opportunities for other start-ups, who might be in need of a specific subject mentor like law or advertising.

Collab House, started by former techie Vineel P. is another such platform that works at bringing together professionals who need collaborations with professionals from a different field.
