Mangaluru: Bantwal Town police have decided to file a suo motu case against one Bhuvith Shetty for his controversial statment on Twitter. Hampi University former VC M.M. Kalburgi was shot at his house in Dharawad on Sunday morning and Bhuvith allegedly made controversial statement on this.
Shetty had posted the tweet on Sunday morning just two hours after Mr Kalburgi was shot dead at his house in Dharwad. Shetty, who uses twitter handle @Garudapurana, posted, “Then it was UR Anantamoorty and now it’s MM Kalburgi. Mock Hinduism and die a dog’s death. And dear K.S Bhagwan you are next.”
As the post was condemned by several people, Shetty first removed it and after a while deleted his Twitter account. However, the snapshot of his post was circulated in the micro blogging site.
“A suo motu case will be filed by Bantwal Town Police against Shetty. We will verify the truth,” S.P. Sharanappa told DC. According to police, Bhuvith belongs to Hindu outfit and already has two cases against him.
