He has made a name in the national music scenario and has also acted in a Bollywood film. He became a known name to the Malayalis after his stint in the Malayalee House show and as a TV host.
Mumbai-based Sherrin Varghese has now cemented his bond with Kerala and also realised his dream of acting in a Malayalam film through Lijo Jose Pellissery’s Double Barrel.
Talking about his role and experience Sherrin says, “I have finally managed to act in a Malayalam movie! I play a Russian mob leader in the film and it is a comedy of errors being played out. I sport a Mohawk hairstyle and have several henchmen under me. Some of the actors are foreigners and the funny part is that we all speak Malayalam though we are Russians. It is amazing how we have managed to localise Russian. The film treats Malayalam as a global language and the other languages have to adapt to Malayalam. Stating that he has not done any other role so garish he lets on that the film is a mix of Quentin Tarantino meets Pulp Fiction meets a Telugu film style which he totally loved acting in. Sherrin mentions that when he was asked by Lijo to act in the film, he did not have any other thoughts but just said yes immediately.
Sherrin also adds, “I have worked in Bollywood films but Indrajith and Prithviraj were just awesome and totally cool and I feel happy that I shared screen space with two top actors.” Sherrin has also dubbed for the movie. Double Barrel has had a disappointing response at the box office so far.
