Bengaluru: Don’t harass public, newly-elected Congress corporators told

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC president Dr G. Parameshwar gave a pep talk to newly elected corporators

BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC president Dr G. Parameshwar exhorted the newly-elected Congress corporators that they should not ‘harass’ the public on the pretext of plan approval of buildings within their wards. Mr Siddaramaiah also directed the corporators, not to leave Bengaluru till Mayoral election process was over.

Giving a pep talk to newly elected corporators at the KPCC office, Mr Siddaramaiah said, “I have come across many instances during Janata Darashan of public complaining about corporators from our party in different parts of the state. We will have to come out of this kind of harassment, which not only brings disrepute to our party but also to its leadership in the state. This has become a menace and I will establish a foolproof mechanism to keep vigil on you.”

He said corporators need not worry about development of their wards, irrespective of whether the party forges an alliance with JD(S) or not. Dr Parameshwar directed corporators to establish helplines within their wards to keep in touch with the residents. “Irrespective of whether a voter has voted you or not, you must serve them. That is how we can keep on increasing our vote share,” he said.
