Nuns visit the Golden Temple at the Narayana Peedam in Sri Puram, Vellore.
Vellore: Sri Sakthi Amma of Sri Puram Golden Temple celebrated on Monday the eighth anniversary of the Golden Temple which was consecrated in 2007 on August 24.
Goddess Narayani is seated in the temple with all vimanas of the temple completely covered by gold, and the temple has become a cynosure of the world, bringing thousands of tourists every day from every nook and corner inside and outside the country. Sri Sakthi Amma who established Narayani Peedam 23 years ago built the Thirumalikodi temple and conducted eight days yagnas at the Golden Temple.
The yagnas were held for Ashta Lakshmis in the temple and concluded on Monday with Sri Vidya Lakshmi Yagna. On the previous seven days the yagnas were performed for Veeralakshmi, Santhana Lakshmi, Gajalakshmi, Vara Lakshmi, Dhaana Lakshmi and Dhanya Lakshmi. Thousands of devotees of Sri Sakthi Amma from within the country and abroad participated in the anniversary function.
On the eighth anniversary function, special worship to Lakshmi Narayani took place in which Maha Abhishekam to Goddess Narayani was performed with pure cow milk, honey, panchamirtham, butter milk,kumkum and turmeric.
Union minister for science and technology Harshavardhan, district collector Dr R.Nanthagopal and lakhs of devotees were present when Sri Sakthi Amma performed the special worship.
