Naved, who studied only till class five, is understood to be the black sheep of the family

New Delhi: Lone terrorist seized in the Udhampur terror attack, Mohammad Naved, has revealed during an interrogation that the 26/11 attacks mastermind Hafiz Saeed had visited the LeT camps twice while he was undergoing training there, according to reports.

Naved underwent narco-analyses interrogation by the NIA, during which he confessed that he was trained by some of the top Lashkar commanders to be a Fidayeen (suicide bomber), and that Saeed had delivered motivational speeches urging the recruits to kill Hindus in India, claim reports in local media.

Based on the confessions of Naved, the NIA has prepared a dossier according to which 18 Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists had infiltrated into the Indian territory along with him. The interrogation also revealed that the terrorist, who is from Faisalabad in Pakistan and in his early 20s, had been recruited by the LeT when he was 16-17.

Naved, who studied only till class five, is understood to be the black sheep of the family with his elder brother and brother-in-law, both being college lecturers.

As per the 25-page dossier, Naved was sent by the son of LeT chief Hafiz Saeed, Talha, for a major suicide strike in Jammu and Kashmir.

Two BSF men were killed and 14 others injured in the attack on the BSF convoy in Udhampur. The Jammu and Kashmir Police and army are now carrying out search operations across the valley for the remaining LeT handlers from the sleeper cell with everyone on high alert.
