Why did Pakistan not raise Kashmir issue in Ufa, asks Rajnath Singh

US said it was “disappointed” that talks between NASs of India & Pak had been cancelled

New Delhi: Hitting out at Pakistan a day after it called off the Indo-Pakistan NSA-level talks, Union home minister Rajnath Singh said Sunday that if Pakistan was so keen on raising the Kashmir issue, why didn’t it do so during the talks in Ufa, Russia, as the Narendra Modi government draws flak from the Congress for its “ham-handed” handling of the situation.

In another development, the United States said it was “disappointed” that the talks between the national security advisers of India and Pakistan had been called off and said that it “encouraged India and Pakistan to resume a formal dialogue soon”.

In Srinagar, J&K Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed voiced disappointment over the cancellation of the NSA talks while former chief minister Farooq Abdullah put the blame on separatists, who in turn said the Indian government was to blame.
