Talks only way out, says Pawan Kalyan

Jana Sena chief says he will go on fast if CM doesn’t find a solution

Penumaka (Guntur district): Emphasising that he would prefer a solution through dialogue, actor-politician Pawan Kalyan on Sunday made it clear that he would not hesitate to go on a hunger strike to stop acquisition of land from farmers for establishment of Amaravati, the new capital of AP.

Mr Kalyan appealed to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu by describing him the “most able administrator who built the Hitech City in Hyderabad” to resolve the issue through dialogue or debate or he would be forced to resort to a dharna.

Speaking during his interaction with farmers from Undavalli, Penumaka, Bethapudi and other villages of the capital region, the actor-politician said that he had come to them “not as a film star but as a farmer” and assured them that he was ready to “sacrifice his life for the good cause”.

Stating that Mr Naidu brought Presidents of many countries, including the USA to AP, developed IT and initiated reforms, he said that only the CM can resolve the issue.

“Chances that the Telugu Desam will face defeat in the next election exist. How can we then believe promises made by ministers like P. Pulla Rao, P. Narayana and others during land pooling?” Mr Kalyan said, reacting to fears expressed by the farmers whether the statements hold any value.
