Hyderabad High Court asks for scheme to rehabilitate girl victims

The bench was dealing with a taken up case based on a letter by Justice Challa Kodanda Ram of the High Court

Hyderabad: A division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice S.B. Bhatt of the Hyderabad High Court on Thursday asked the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to come out with a scheme to protect others like 19-year-old Pratyusha, who is a victim of parental torture.

The bench was dealing with a taken up case based on a letter by Justice Challa Kodanda Ram of the High Court, seeking intervention of the court to render justice to the victim.

While welcoming the steps taken by the Telangana government in the case of Pratyusha, the High Court said that in this case the victim is lucky as both the government and the court responded timely, but in cases of other similar children, it is for governments to ensure their safety and to secure their future.
