Tata to launch country’s largest startup hub in Telangana

Ratan Tata will be inaugurating India’s biggest incubation centre T-Hub
Hyderabad: Tata Sons chairman emeritus Ratan Tata will be inaugurating India’s biggest incubation centre T-Hub on September 7 in Hyderabad, said a top official from the Telangana government.
“Our incubation centre T-Hub, which is meant to promote start-ups and innovators will be inaugurated on September 7 by Rata Tata,” secretary, information and communications technology Jayesh Ranjan said.
The first phase of T-hub is spread over 60,000 square feet and will accommodate 800 start-ups. It will be the biggest technology incubation centre in the country. According to Mr Rajan, there is no organised way of government’s push to start-ups and has a very limited role and we plan to address such issues through T-Hub... We are also planning a larger facility in the second phase which will be five times the size of existing facility and will house over 5,000 start-ups. The facility is expected to come up before the World IT Congress in 2018 in Hyderabad.”
The government of India is also promoting start-ups in a big way. In his Independence Day address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi coined slogan Startup India and Standup India. The finance ministry has launched India Aspiration Fund — a venture fund of venture funds — with an outlay of Rs 12,000 crore to invest in various venture funds.
