Hyderabad High Court takes Rs 1 lakh to hear PIL on scam probe transfer

Mr Krishnaiah said that there was no possibility of a fair inquiry

Hyderabad: A division bench of acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice S.V. Bhatt on Monday directed advocate P.V. Krishnaiah to deposit Rs 1 lakh to hear his PIL seeking transfer of the ACB probe into the cash-for-vote scam to the CBI. Mr Krishnaiah said that there was no possibility of a fair inquiry as the ACB was under the control of the TS government. He alleged that video and audio clippings of the case were leaked to TV channels without the ACB’s knowledge.

Pointing to the locus standi of the petitioner, the bench said it was for the government to ask the CBI to probe the matter.

Mr Krishnaiah replied that the government had not sought a CBI inquiry and therefore he had moved the court. The bench said it will hear his plea in a week.
