BENGALURU: How can one ensure the corporator can be held accountable? Shadow him! Or her! The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in its manifesto 'Bombat Bengaluru' will incorporate the concept of shadow corporator to trail the BBMP council member on all infrastructure projects executed across a ward, to ensure transparency, said Prithvi Reddy, AAP's national executive member.
During an interaction on Wednesday with civic experts on the manifesto to be released on Monday, architect Naresh Narasimhan suggested a shadow corporator on the lines of a shadow cabinet.
The corporator would keep an eye on the projects executed by a corporator and check if the money spent doesn't go into the corporator's pockets. For that of course, the BBMP which handles thousands of crores also needs a computer! Thus far, it doesn't have one...
