CPM to expose SNDP’s political opportunism

The state leadership’s feedback on the issue would be presented before the PB later

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM central leadership has directed the state unit to launch an extensive campaign in the state to expose SNDP's opportunistic stand.

The central leadership felt that the stand taken by SNDP was pure political opportunism which required to be exposed. PB said the party should avoid getting entangled in non issues or controversial issues like relationship with the RSP and concentrate on working for the cause of "aam aadmi" taking up their problems in a big way.

It directed the state unit to organise mass agitations against the anti people policies of the centre and state governments. CPM central leadership has asked the state unit of party to resolve the problems amicably ahead of the crucial local bodies and Assembly elections.

The central leadership has decided to go slow on the findings of PB commission that is inquiring into the internal problems confronting the state unit. Under these circumstances the commission report is unlikely to come out soon.

The leadership is of the view that such contentious issues could wait as the party required to enhance its organisational strength in the state ahead of the crucial polls. Moreover, the party has to thwart the attempts being made by BJP and Sangh Parivar to make inroads into the traditional vote bank of the Left.

The views of the central leadership on issues concerning the state and organisational matters to be presented during the panel, would be placed before the state committee for discussions.

The state leadership’s feedback on the issue would be presented before the PB later. CPM politburo members Pinarayi Vijayan and Kodiyeri Balakrishnan discussed the state issues with the party centre.

The party would keep close watch on the moves being made by Sangh Parivar at the highest level to woo a section of SNDP leadership. The leadership said there was a concerted attempt to mislead the community members by raising false allegations against the CPM and its leaders.
