Viplav is worth the wait: Mishal Raheja

He tells us about the unconventional theme of the show

Mishal Raheja of Laagi Tujse Lagan gets chatty about his comeback with Ishq Ka Rang Safed on Colors. He tells us about the unconventional theme of the show, his co-star, what took him so long to make a comeback and more. Excerpts:

What is it that kept you away from television for so long?
I was waiting for the right role to come by. And I also needed some time off because I was setting up my own business and I needed some time and space to concentrate on it. I wanted to play a character only if I was sure how it would shape up. I thought my comeback had to be something that made a difference. Landing the role of Viplav is definitely worth the wait.

How was your experience of working with newcomer Eisha?
Eisha and I share a comfortable equation, which makes it easier to work together. If I am comfortable with my co-actors, there’s no way of stopping me from giving my best. It is important to understand the people you work with. She is a very talented and dedicated girl and it’s nice to work with someone who believes in giving her hundred percent. I hope our fans enjoy Viplav and Dhani’s chemistry.

There have been films that have portrayed the plight of widows in our country. Will the show be on similar lines?
Yes, the show will highlight the situation of widows. Even in progressive times like today, a widow is expected to restrict herself and give up on all the good things in life. Some cultures are extremely harsh on a widow. The concept of the show revolves around these key factors.

How was it shooting in Banaras?
It was an exhilarating experience to shoot amidst the spectacular ghats. It’s a very serene place and the positive energy in the air pumped up the entire cast. People there are very affectionate, they welcomed us with so much love, which made our stay in the city very enjoyable.

How do you like to unwind?
I am a voracious reader; I love to catch up on some good books. Also, when I’m not shooting, I make it a point to be with family and friends.
