Shed Congress hatred: RSP to CPM

Mr Chandrachoodan blamed the CPM for the RSP’s walkout from the LDF

KOLLAM: The Left parties, including the CPM, should cooperate with the Congress party to beat communal forces, said RSP general secretary T.J. Chandrachoodan on Friday.

Inaugurating the party’s state conference here, Mr. Chandrachoodan said the Congress party should change its soft policy towards the corporates. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy inaugurated the political conference later.

Mr Chandrachoodan blamed the CPM for the RSP’s walkout from the LDF. “RSP has left the front to preserve the dignity of the party. CPM had withdrawn the protest that shook the Oommen Chandy government owing to some backdoor agreements. They also abandoned the roadblock protest when a housewife objected,” Mr Chandrachoodan said.

The CPM leaders had promised a Parliament seat to the RSP but did not keep their word.

“The RSS has the communal agenda of making India a Hindu nation by 2050. They have appointed an RSS man as head of the FTII in Pune to convert the students. They are even rewriting tMr Chandrachoodan blamed the CPM for the RSP’s walkout from the LDFhe history to achieve their goals,” he said.

Mr Oommen Chandy who spoke after inaugurating the political meeting said, “The CPM should drop its blind hatred towards the Congress party. As a party that stands for secularism, the CPM has a role in national politics. It should change its stance to stand united against communalism,” he said.

Minister Shibu Baby John said the RSP was not trying for a revolt within the UDF by raising the question of deputy speaker post. He also hoped for a democratic decision by the front leaders on this issue.

Pinarayi blamed
The RSP organisational report presented at the state conference came down heavily on former CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan saying that it was his arrogance that forced several parties, including the RSP, to leave the LDF. The autocratic stance of Mr. Vijayan will destroy the CPM, it said.

It also alleged that the CPM tried to split the LDF allies except the CPI. The report refers to the corruption allegations against the UDF ministers. Such allegations cannot be justified, the report says.
