PM calls on long time friend Cho Ramaswamy at his home

Meeting Cho was not part of the original itinerary of the Prime Minister
Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday called on his long-time friend and editor-in-chief of Tamil weekly Thuglak, Cho Ramaswamy, at his residence in south Chennai.
After completing his luncheon meeting with Chief Minister Jayalalithaa at her Poes Garden residence, the PM’s convoy then drove straight to Cho’s MRC Nagar residence.
Meeting Cho was not part of the original itinerary of the Prime Minister. Though Modi was already behind schedule, he took the extra mile to meet his friend. The meeting lasted 10 minutes. Modi enquired about Cho’s health and comforted the journalist. Cho (80) was recently hospitalised following a brief illness due to geriatric complications.
Modi and Cho were long-time friends. Modi was a regular chief guest for the magazine’s annual anniversary functions in Chennai. Later, the journalist told reporters, “He is my long time friend and came to enquire about my health and we discussed nothing political.”. Modi who criss-crossed the city, throwing traffic out of gear, waved to the public who were waiting to catch a glimpse of him.
