Congress targets Prem Kumar Dhumal and son, alleges loss of Rs 100 crore to exchequer

Congress claimed it had caused a loss of around Rs 100 crore to the state exchequer

New Delhi: After the “Lalitgate” and Vyapam scams in BJP-ruled Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, and the rice scandal in Chhattisgarh, the Congress on Sunday raised the issue of the “land scam” during the chief ministership of BJP leader Prem Kumar Dhumal in Himachal Pradesh that was meant to benefit his son Anurag Thakur, now a BJP MP. The Congress claimed it had caused a loss of around Rs 100 crore to the state exchequer.

The Congress accused professor Dhumal and Mr Thakur of “misuse of office, conflict of interest, gross constitutional impropriety and brazen conduct”. Mr Thakur, who is also currently the BCCI secretary, has denied the charges.
