Tamil Nadu to find place in ‘Make in India’ programme

Yoga, Swachch Bharat, women empowerment and skill development are the other four key areas of focus included in Panch Kranti
CHENNAI: To give a new dimension to the ‘Make in India’ programme, the BJP-led government at the Centre will soon work out modalities to encourage young and upcoming entrepreneurs to start business ventures in every state. Tamil Nadu is likely to find a prominent place in this programme.
To facilitate this, the government will soon appoint state-level coordinators. “Our goal is to create a fresh brand of young entrepreneurs by ensuring a conducive atmosphere to help one start business ventures easily in India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rule,” says A. P. Muruganandam, BJP leader from Tamil Nadu who was appointed on Saturday to oversee implementation of the programme at the national level.
This will be among the Centre’s five-fold revolution (Panch Kranti) programme that Union urban development and parliament affairs minister M. Venkaiah Naidu will launch in New Delhi on August 5.
Yoga, Swachch Bharat, women empowerment and skill development are the other four key areas of focus included in Panch Kranti. According to party sources here, the Prime Minister is said to have directed his cabinet colleagues and party leaders to take these schemes to the people.
“Rather than government officials explaining about the avenues open for commencing business ventures, we hope to involve successful entrepreneurs to motivate the people with their pep talk on the scope and challenges. I have interacted with a few captains of industry. They are willing to share their experience and also provide their expertise in helping one to start projects,” Mr Muruganandam told this correspondent.
Tamil Nadu would be promoted in a big way as it has tremendous scope. Already, China had evinced interest to partner in computer chip making and in importing herbs from the State, he said.
