Hyderabad: Telangana government on Saturday asked the External Affairs Ministry to take steps to ensure the release of Balaram who has been kidnapped in Libya allegedly by Islamic State terror group.
As per the directives of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Telangana chief secretary Rajiv Sharma has written to the External Affairs ministry in this regard, a release from the CM Office said.
The CMO here and Telangana Bhavan officials in Delhi are obtaining details on the incident and are in touch with MEA, it said.

The Centre is in touch with government in Libya, as per the release.
Balaram, who hails from Telangana, is among the four Indians, who were kidnapped in Libya. However, two of them have been released.
