End people’s water woes; M K Stalin threatens jail bharo

talin urged the ruling AIADMK to listen to the grievances of the people protesting for water
Chennai: DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin on Friday threatened to hold a “jail bharo” protest if the state government does not address the water woes of the people.
Referring to the water storage position in the many reservoirs, especially the four city reservoirs that have turned bone-dry, Stalin said the government machinery is in ICU. Stalin alleged that nowhere in the country does a government sell water.
“Elsewhere it is provided free. Only in Tamil Nadu, the state government is selling water,” Stalin said wondering what has become of the 20-liter free water promised.
Listing out the various water projects implemented in the previous DMK regime, Stalin urged the ruling AIADMK to listen to the grievances of the people protesting for water.
The DMK treasurer cautioned that he would lead a jail bharo agitation urging the state government to ensure continuous water supply to the people if it does not pay heed to the grievances of the people immediately.
