ANANTAPUR: A junior Intermediate student of a private college in Nellore, belonging to Gandikotavaripalli in Anantapur district, became the latest victim of ragging on Friday.
G. Madhuvardhan Reddy, 16, hanged himself to death after seniors ragged him cruelly. Madhuvardhan Reddy had got a free seat in a private college in Nellore under merit quota.
Soon after he joined he suffered ragging. The boy was in deep shock after seniors pulled a blanket over him and thrashed him on July 9. The boy who came home on July 12 refused to return. On Thursday, the management called Madhuvardhan. After the conversation the student felt he would be sent back to the college and hanged himself. Kadiri DSP Ramanjineyulu said that cases would be registered against the seniors.
