Nexa gets luxury hotel touch

Currently, there are over 30 Nexa showrooms across India
Hyderabad: Maruti Suzuki on Friday said that its premium showrooms under Nexa brand would give a completely new experience to customers, which is akin to hospitality received at a luxury hotel.
“We feel that current generation of customers who are making high ticket purchases requires an entirely different treatment. Nexa’s focus would be on building a long-term relationship. So we have carefully handpicked our executives, who know the nuances of dealing with wealthy customers,” said the company’s executive director (marketing and sales) R.S. Kalsi told this newspaper.
In attempt to give a new experience, he said the company has turned down the requests from its dealers to induct some of their sales and marketing executives in
Nexa. “Our executives at the existing dealership network are sales or marketing personnel. They are very good in sales and marketing. But people who buy premium cars expect a different level of experience,” he said.
According to Mr Kalsi, about 75 per cent of the executives at Nexa were hired from different sectors such as hospitality, airlines and banking.
“We trained them for three months about our car industry. They were made to spend seven days at Delhi’s luxury hotel JWT to make them understand nuances of pampering our customers. So when a customer walks into the Nexa, he or she would feel the hospitality provided by a luxury hotel. This is the reason we designated our Nexa executives as relationship managers.”
Currently, there are over 30 Nexa showrooms across India. By the end of this fiscal, Mr Kalsi said the company would open 100 Nexa showrooms in top 30 cities. “In the second phase, we will focus on tier-2 and tier-3 cities as we believe there is a huge potential for premium car showrooms like Nexa.”
Currently, S-Cross is the only model that is going to be launched through Nexa.
Referring to a recent announcement by Suzuki of launching 20 new models, Mr Kalsi said the company will introduce some models which are suitable for Indian customers. “So we have a good line-up of models that will be launched through this premier showroom,” he added.
