BENGALURU: A teacher was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly stealing gold valuables from her neighbour’s house on July 22. The accused has been identified as Shehnaz, a resident of Vinayak Nagar and a teacher at a government school in Madiwala.

The police have recovered gold valuables worth Rs 4 lakh from her. The police had arrested Shehnaz based on a complaint filed by Afzal. During interrogation she confessed to the crime. According to the police, on July 22 Afzal had to rush his father to Jayadeva hospital and had asked Shehnaz to take care of the house.

Afzal’s father later died in hospital and he came to know about the theft only after he had performed the last rites.He immediately filed a complaint with the police.
