Microsoft Windows 10 flagship smartphones to feature iris scanner

Microsoft will reportedly launch two new flagship smartphones this year

Following the trend of launching dual flagships, reports online suggest that Microsoft will be launching two new Windows 10 smartphones, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. Some reports online also suggest that these smartphones could be called Lumia 940 and 940 XL, since the previous flagship was named Lumia 930.

Reportedly, the Lumia 950 will sport a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It will be powered by a six-core Snapdragon 808 processor, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It features a 20MP primary camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. The smartphone is fuelled by a 3000mAh battery.

On the other hand, the Lumia 950 XL, as the name suggests, will sport a larger 5.7-inch display. It would mostly feature similar specifications, except for an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, and a 3300mAh battery.

The biggest attraction of the two smartphones is the reported iris scanner feature, along with Qi wireless charging and an infrared scanner. Both the smartphones will feature a USB Type-C.

Although there is no official word from Microsoft about any of this yet, it is also being speculated that the two Microsoft flagships will be launched in September.
