Coimbatore: In an alarming trend in the once-conservative Coimbatore, 31 per cent of college boys watch violent rape and porn videos on their mobile phones or other gadgets on a daily basis, a sample survey by an NGO has revealed. The findings of the survey revealed that college boys, addicted to porn, have watched a total of 2,700 rapes on their mobile or other devices.
“Even more startling is that finding that more than 50 per cent of the boys who watch rape videos have confessed they have developed a desire to rape,” said Abishek Clifford, CEO of Rescue and a lecturer from London, who carried out this survey.
“About 86 per cent of students said that porn leads to premarital sex, 45 per cent watch teen porn or child porn,” Abishek revealed.
What’s even more disturbing is that after watching child porn, 18 per cent of college students go to prostitutes once a month.
“Feeding this pervasive desire is leading to approximately 360 high school girls getting kidnapped in Coimbatore, according to CBI statistics,” Abishek Clifford pointed out. The survey was carried out among 400 students studying in ten colleges in Coimbatore over the last six months.
