Osmania General Hospital Patients to be taken to Fever Hospital at Nallakunta

There is a rider on the Chief Minister’s order: He wanted that the alternative should be easily accessible

Hyderabad: TS health minister Dr C. Laxma Reddy visited the Fever Hospital at Nallakunta here on Thursday evening to check if 200 in-patients from the Osmania General Hospital can be accommodated there.

With Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao stating that the OGH hospital must be shifted within a week, Dr Laxma Reddy has chalked out a plan to visit government hospitals in the city to see if OGH in-patients can be accommodated there.

There is a rider on the Chief Minister’s order: He wanted that the alternative should be easily accessible.

Officials have to now now work out a system to divide the departments, facilities, equipment and also the nursing staff between the alternative units of the hospital planned.

How was the CM’s visit planned?

Telangana Government Doctors’ Association sensitised chief secretary Rajiv Sharma and principal secretary of health Suresh Chandra of the critical situation of the hospital building.

Dr M. Viresham, Dr P. Srinivas and other members of the association had parked themselves in the Secretariat for the last week, explaining the pathetic condition to health minister Dr Laxma Reddy and senior government officers.

Finally, the Chief Minister, who had held a review meeting on the hospital earlier this week, realised that he had to see the situation himself.
