Convene Assembly session at earliest: Stalin

DMK treasurer threatened to hold a protest if an announcement was not made immediately

Chennai: Appealing to the ruling AIADMK to convene the session of the legislative Assembly at the earliest, DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin on Wednesday threatened to hold a protest along with his party MLAs if an announcement was not made immediately.

Pointing out that Tamil Nadu Assembly has not had a session since April 1, despite repeated calls for it, Stalin said, “As a result, the demands of the various departments have not been placed before the assembly for approval and the administration in the state has been left paralysed.”

Accusing the AIADMK regime of not providing any reason for not calling a session, Stalin said the “paralysis in the government will take a huge toll on the welfare of the people.” By not holding the Assembly sessions and discussing people’s issues, the ruling AIADMK is murdering democracy,” the DMK treasurer remarked.
