'False' rape case: Amitabh Thakur gets 'moral support' from Khemka, Chaturvedi

The IPS officer was suspended on July 13 by the Uttar Pradesh government
Lucknow: Whistleblower bureaucrats Ashok Khemka and Sanjiv Chaturvedi today met Amitabh Thakur, who is locked in a tussle with ruling SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, and extended "moral support" to the suspended IPS officer in his "fight for justice".
The officers were confident that Thakur would emerge "victorious". "Well-known crusader bureaucrats Ashok Khemka (IAS), Haryana and Sanjiv Chaturvedi (IFS) presently working in AIIMS, called up Amitabh saying that they extend their moral support in this fight for justice," Amitabh's wife Nutan Thakur said.
"They (the officers) said they are sure he (Amitabh) will emerge victorious in this case," she added. Thakur said that these words from the finest officers have bolstered his morale in his fight for justice.
The official stirred a political storm by releasing the text and audio of the conversation purportedly carrying Mulayam's voice. The Inspector General-rank officer said Yadav threatened him after his wife Nutan filed a complaint before the Uttar Pradesh Lokayukta against Uttar Pradesh Mines minister Gayatri Prajapati.
The IPS officer was suspended on July 13 by the Uttar Pradesh government hours after he approached the Union Home Ministry in New Delhi seeking a CBI probe into the rape charges slapped against him. The rape charges came days after Thakur lodged a complaint against the SP chief for allegedly threatening him.
Thakur alleged that his suspension and the allegations were aimed at harassing him.
"No effort was made to know my version nor was there any attempt to get a report from the civil defence (where he was posted at the time of suspension as IG)," he had said.
Thakur said that he would soon move court in connection with these two cases. Justifying his actions, Thakur said his social activities are as per the amended conduct of rules 2014 and fundamental rights under which one could help others in their fight for equality and justice.
Chaturvedi is an Indian Forest Service officer. He is currently the deputy secretary of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). He has moved the Central Administrative Tribunal against the Haryana government for "deliberately" denying him the right to be considered for promotion.
Khemka is known for cancelling the mutation of Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra's alleged illegal land deal in Gurgaon.
