Orphan gets book released by favourite actor

Actor Mamookoya released the copy of the book

KOZHIKODE: The dreadful memories of childhood is what Shami, an orphan from Kannur has written about in her debut work Nadavazhigalile Nerukal.

The book that was released at Thiruvant-hapuram on July 7, was released in Kozhikode at a function organised by DC books on Friday. Actor Mamookoya released the copy of the book.

Talking about her work, Shami who has been living in an orphanage for several years in Kannur, said, “When I was 11 years old, I remember the day when I had to work till midnight in a textile shop which was to be inaugurated the next day. I only hoped to get a glance of the chief guest at the inauguration, who happened to be Mamookoya. But unfortunately, I was not taken to the function. All I wanted was to meet my favorite actor.”

Shami went onto say, “Therefore, the releasing of my book at the hands of the actor after years is indeed a blissful moment for me.”

DC books, the publisher of Shami’s book, will also organise a reception for the book at Kannur on July 21.
