The city police team won 21 medals and 10 trophies to become the best performing team

Chennai: Chennai police emerged as over all champion in the 59th State police duty meet that concluded here on Friday. The city police team won 21 medals and 10 trophies to become the best performing team among 21 teams, which had sent a total of 685 participants, including 127 women police personnel.

N.Geetha, inspector, Chennai city, won the individual trophy for best performance in scientific aids to investigation. City police commissioner S. George received trophies from the DGP Ashok Kumar on Friday at the valedictory function in the presence of ADGP Karan Sinha and IG Mahesh Kumar Agarwal of CB-CID, which organised the meet.

The meet comprises 17 competitions under six heads, such as scientific aids to investigation, professional photography, computer awareness, videography, anti-sabotage check and dog squad skills. Investigating officers and scientific assistants who have utilised scientific aids in investigation of actual cases were also given cash rewards by the DGP.
