Hyderabad Cricket Association president Arshad Ayub booked for fraud

He was also booked for forgery and for threatening a victim
Hyderabad: The Miyapur police on Thursday booked a cheating case against Hyderabad Cricket Association president Arshad Ayub for allegedly taking lakhs of rupees from people for flats and not delivering the same.
He was also booked for forgery and for threatening a victim when the latter asked for his money back. Mr Ayub was booked following an order from the Miyapur court. He had allegedly taken the money more than six years ago and had not delivered on his promises.
The victims, most of them government employees, had paid Rs 35 to 40 lakh for each flat and had waited for many years. “He promised to finish the flat and hand it over to us within 20 months. He took Rs 34.6 lakh from me in 2008, and when I asked him repeatedly, he threatened me with dire consequences,” said a complainant, Mr Suresh Nair.
Seven others had also approached the Miyapur court, alleging cheating by Mr Ayub. The Miyapur police has started an investigation; however, cops said that no arrest was made so far. According to another victim, Mr Ayub and his associates started developing a place at Miyapur named Sky City. Several people paid lakhs to buy flats, and all of them had been promised delivery in 20 months. While a few flats were built, a large number of them remained under construction after six years.
