Concrete action on Ram temple when situation conducive: BJP

Our stand is clear on the issue and it is in the party's agenda, says BJP

Kanpur: BJP government will take concrete action on the issue of Ram temple in Ayodhya when the situation is conducive, BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya said on Saturday.

Addressing reporters after a meeting presided by BJP chief Amit Shah to review the party's mass contact programme, he said BJP will fight the next UP election in 2017 on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's development plank and will not name a any chief ministerial candidate.

Asked about the Ram temple issue, he said, "Our stand is clear on the issue and it is in the party's agenda. Wait for conducive situation. Our government will take some concrete action in this direction."

On whether the party was planning to raise Hindutva issue for polls in Uttar Pradesh, he said, "BJP won the Lok Sabha elections on the issue of development and it will emerge victorious in the Assembly polls too on the development plank."

To queries on who would be the chief ministerial candidate, he said, "Did the party name anyone as CM candidate in Maharashtra and Haryana before the assembly polls? In Uttar Pradesh, we will fight the election relying on Prime Minister Modi's work and the strength of the organisation under Amit Shah."
