Namitha romances three heroes

Namitha Pramod is the only female lead in Nadirsha’s upcoming film Amar Akbar Antony

Namitha Pramod, who has just returned from the shoot of Nadirsha’s directorial debut Amar Akbar Antony, has had quite an experience single-handedly managing three heroes in the same movie. The film, which features Prithviraj, Indrajith and Jayasurya, has only one female lead.

“Amar, Akbar and Antony are three young-gen guys in Mattancherry, who live their life to the fullest. Jenny, my character, a cinematic dancer also belongs to the same street as the guys.”

“So, the film revolves around some of the fun incidents that happen on the street. I’m paired opposite all three of them in the film and many of the sequences I had to play with each one of them was almost the same. For example, first one person would come along and flirt with me and immediately, another one of the three would come and flirt with me in the same style. So, it was loads of fun being the romantic interest of three guys simultaneously,” says Namitha with a soft giggle.

She adds, “I have known Nadirsha for a long time. When this movie was in it’s nascent stages and he was yet to confirm the dates with the other cast, we had discussed the project. In between, because of other film commitments, I was afraid I would not be able to take up this project, but luckily, everything worked out perfectly. Amar Akbar Antony is a full-on entertainer. However, the movie also conveys a message to the audience. The shoot was mostly in Mattancherry area, except for a song sequence shot in Hyderabad and it was loads of fun because of the cast and crew. As you might imagine, Nadirsha was his fun self, coming up with witty retorts and dialogues all through the shoot. Jayettan (Jayasurya) is also very talkative and fun. So, it was a fun project to be a part of.”

Referring to her future projects she says, “I’m currently discussing four projects in different languages, including one in Malayalam, but I’m yet to commit to any of them. So, I’m not sure which out of these I would be doing first as yet. The exams for my English Literature course are also approaching and I have to devote some time preparing for it as well.”
