Bomb threat warning — which turned out to be a hoax — was made on Twitter: TV report

New Delhi: A Jet Airways flight from Mumbai to Dubai was suddenly diverted en route to Muscat after a bomb threat. The aircraft had 54 passengers and seven crew members on board and landed safely at Muscat. A Muscat airport official was cited by TV reports as saying no bomb was found on the aircraft after a thorough search.
According to TV reports, the bomb threat warning — which turned out to be a hoax — was made on Twitter. The scare originated from a tweet from the handle @PartapSurinder run by someone identifying himself as Surinder Partap from Ludhiana.
The Mumbai crime branch is investigating the tweet. “The cyber crime cell is probing the tweet and we are trying to locate the person,” DCP (crime) Dhananjay Kulkarni said.
