Hyderabad: Ministers of the Andhra Pradesh government met President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday and showed him the evidence they had in regard to tapping of phones of key persons allegedly by the Telangana government. Andhra Pradesh for Section 8 in Hyderabad

Andhra Pradesh government lodged a strong protest against Telangana with President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday stating that the situation had come to such a pass that “operationalisation of Section 8 of AP Reorg-anisation Act and handing over law and order in Hyderabad city to Governor is imminent and the only way out”.

AP chief secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao met the President on Tuesday evening and submitted a note to him detailing the incidents of omission and commission by TS that occurred post-bifurcation. With specific references, the CS mentioned the feud over Scheduled X, IX institutions as well as Section 8 of the AP Reorganisation Act.

“All other Sections in the APRA are implemented, Section 8 has not been operationalised so far. The request of AP government is to implement Section-8, which would instill confidence in the minds of people who settled here,” the CS stated.
