Patta proposal has gone missing, claim residents

Patta distribution had gone missing for the third time
Coimbatore: The members of the Tamil Nadu Farmers Association alleged that the proposal for patta distribution that was submitted at the tahsildar office in Chinniyampalayam had gone missing for the third time. Handing over a petition to the district collector Archana Patnaik, the president of the association, S. Palanisamy said that there were about 20 houses constructed in poromboke land and the residents have been residing in the same area for the last four decades.
They have been duly paying water tax and house tax for the same as well. They had submitted a memorandum to the local minister and the collector for sanctioning of patta. Following this, the Irugur VAO and surveyors had visited the area, taken the survey and recommended that patta can be given to 20 plots.
The proposal for the pattas was sent to the tahsildar office.
The proposal for pattas went missing twice between 2011 and 2012.
Now again the staff of the tahsildar office claim that the third proposal recently sent from the collector’s office asking for some details, was also missing.
The members urged the collector to investigate into the missing proposals and render justice.
