Vijayawada: Two helicopter services would be available for devotees to travel to the Godavari Pushkaralu in Rajahmundry scheduled to begin on July 14. Officials of the Airports Authority of India at Vijayawada airport have agreed to the business proposal put forth by a private company to operating two helicopters between Vijayawada airport and Rajahmundry.
Speaking to DC, airport director M. Raja Kishore said, "Pawan Hans came forward with the business proposal and asked if the services, including parking space, technical support and others, from AAI would be provided for helicopter operations for 14 days. We agreed, and everything would be finalised in a day or two.”
He said that the company was planning to offer joy rides and visits to the bathing ghats in Rajahmundry. The fares would be decided by the company. While one of the helicopters will have the capacity to seat 10 passengers, the other is a six-seater.
