New Delhi: Former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi – against whom Rashtrapati Bhavan filed a complaint with Delhi Police for ‘defamatory’ tweets against President Pranab Mukherjee – has been asked to show up before Enforcement Directorate (ED) within three weeks for questioning.

The probe is related to the money laundering case recorded against him.
The ED registered a case under Prevention of Money Laundering Act in 2012. A First Information Report had been filed in Chennai.
However, Rashtrapati Bhavan’s complaint contained screenshots of June 23 and June 25 tweets along with a 80-page file that Modi had attached to his tweets.
The tainted IPL chief alleged that Mukherjee, during his days as the Finance Minister, convinced the ED to act against him after he raised a voice against the shareholding pattern of now-defunct franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala.
