No threat to Narendra Modi, asserts home ministry

New Delhi: The Union home ministry on Saturday denied there was any threat to Prime Minister Narendra Modi from right-wing elements in the wake of such reports in a section of media. Sources said reports are baseless and unfounded and that no new security risk has been added to the Prime Minister. There was no report of any threat posed from right-wing elements, they added.

It was reported recently that a new security dossier, prepared by the Delhi Police ahead of the International Yoga Day event, lists a threat from right-wing fundamentalists because of Mr Modi’s attempts to woo the Muslim community. Recently the Prime minister had met Muslim leaders at his 7 Race Course residence and had assured them of all the support.
