Hafiz Saeed threat to Amarnath yatra

Hafiz Saeed is planning a ‘spectacular’ attack, claims Intelligence
New Delhi: Central Intelligence Agencies have, in a classified report to the government, warned that dreaded terrorist Hafiz Saeed is planning a “spectacular strike” on the Amarnath yatra with a view to embarrass the Mufti Muhammad Saeed government in Jammu and Kashmir.
The report states that Hafiz Saeed, chief of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa and the most wanted terrorist in India, is upset with the PDP for forming a coalition government in the state with the BJP.
Sources claimed there was concrete information based on human intelligence and intercepts that Saeed has been provoking terror groups to target the Amarnath yatra.
“Hafiz Saeed has been extremely upset ever since the PDP-BJP coalition government has come into existence in Jammu and Kashmir. Further, there has been a significant drop in terror-related incidents in the Valley. All these factors have led to a great degree of frustration and resentment among top terror operatives in Pakistan, including Hafiz Saeed,” a senior intelligence official said.
In addition, there have been reports that a group of 10 to 12 fidayeen militants has already entered the Valley for this purpose. Security agencies were thrown into a tizzy after some pictures of these terrorists appeared on the social media.
Following these specific intelligence inputs, there has been an unprecedented security arrangement for the Amarnath yatra with home minister Rajnath Singh personally monitoring the arrangements.
“There is a foolproof three-cordon security for the yatra, which has been further strengthened following the security alerts. While the Army and the BSF have been providing the outer cordon, the CRPF and the local police have been roped in for the inner security rings,” a senior security official remarked.
