Telangana web counselling put off again as private colleges fight

AP on the other hand, is ready to hold the second phase of Eamcet engineering counselling
Hyderabad: The commencement of TS Eamcet web counselling for admissions to engineering colleges has been delayed again due to the tussle between private engineering colleges and JNTU Hyderabad. The counselling schedule has been deferred by two days.
The entry of web options will begin on July 8 instead of July 6 and seat allotment for first phase counselling will be on July 15. The schedule has been pushed back by two days due to the case regarding engineering colleges’ affiliation pending at the Hyderabad HC.
The HC had earlier directed the authorities to hold counselling from July 6 after private engineering colleges approached it last month. Colleges knocked on the HC doors once again on Thursday after JNTU Hyderabad announced sanctions on intakes. The verdict was posted to Monday.
AP on the other hand, is ready to hold the second phase of Eamcet engineering counselling. TSCHE chairman Prof. T. Papi Reddy announced the revised schedule on Friday. Students can enter options from July 8 to July 11. “They will be allowed to change options on July 12. The data will be compiled on July 13 and 14 and seat allotment will be announced on July 15,” Prof. Papi Reddy said. The second phase of counselling will be on July 23 and 24. “The second phase seat allotment will be on July 28 and classes will begin from August 1 as per SC guidelines,” Prof. Papi Reddy said. He also said that students who were allotted seats in first phase counselling can report at colleges between July 16 and July 21.
