Congress to KCR: First give Muslim quota

Mr Shabbir Ali accused the CM of trying to humiliate the Muslims
Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress on Friday strongly criticised the sops announced for Muslims by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday, saying that the real issues plaguing the Muslim community were being conveniently ignored.
Addressing a news conference at Gandhi Bhavan, TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Leader of Opposition in Council Shabbir Ali accused the CM of misleading the entire state, especially Muslims, with his announcements of Iftar, free clothes etc. for the holy month of Ramzan.
They said that an expenditure of Rs 26 crore was nothing and demanded that the CM fulfill his promise of providing 12 per cent reservation by issuing an ordinance immediately, Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy said, “Not a single rupee has been spent for Shaadi Mubarak and other welfare schemes. Instead of taking up real welfare, Chandrasekhar Rao is cheating Muslims by organising Iftar dinners.”
He announced that the Congress too would organise Iftar across Telangana, from village to state levels, on July 10. Mr Shabbir Ali accused the CM of trying to humiliate the Muslims.
