Actor threatened that he would not promote the film

Last we’d heard, Govinda and the makers of Jagga Jasoos had an ugly falling out, after he finished shooting for the film. The actor threatened that he would not promote the film (in which he plays Ranbir Kapoor’s character’s father), and director Anurag Basu approached other actors to replace him, including Amitabh Bachchan, Irrfan Khan, Anil Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor. “But they all turned down the offer and had their own reasons,” the source says.
With no replacement in sight, Anurag may have finally decided to retain Govinda’s footage, our source says: “Govinda’s scenes were already filmed. Had they found a replacement, those portions would have been reshot. But now, in all probability, it is Govinda’s footage that will be retained.”
