Thiruvananthapuram: Salvation Army bats for education

On 150th anniversary, it will submit petition to United Nations
Thiruvananthapuram: The Salvation Army church will submit a mass petition to the United Nations signed by members from 127 countries on its 150 anniversary on July 2 urging it to take the lead to provide education to all people in the world.
The Thiruvananthapuram division will organise a function on its 151st foundation day at 4 p.m. on the day. A 30-member team led by Salvation Army territorial commander, Commissioner Samuel Charan and territorial women's ministry president, commissioner Bimla Charan left for London to attend Boundless, the international congress, from July1 to 5.
The Salvation Army had organised emergency response personnel and supplies for the quake victims in Nepal. Health Minister V.S. Sivakumar will inaugurate the public meeting at 5.30 p.m. at Eachankal Junction. Divisional Commander Major Davidson Daniel will preside over the function.
