Detailed Project Report (DPR) preparation for the proposed Vizag Metro Rail has been completed.
Visakhapatnam: Detailed Project Report (DPR) preparation for the proposed Vizag Metro Rail has been completed. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), which has been tasked to prepare DPRs for both Vizag and Vijayawada metro rail projects, will submit the report to the state government in two weeks. The DPR preparation has been delayed as one of the corridors has been extended to Gajuwaka.
The government planned three corridors connecting various parts of the city. Madhurawada to NAD Junction along Nati-onal Highway-16, Thatichetlapalem to Old City via Vizag railway station, and Gurudwara Junction to Beach Road are three corridors identified.
The Madhurawada- NAD Kotha Road had been extended to Gajuwaka. “The Vizag metro DPR preparation has been completed. As one of the corridors has been extended, various studies like geo-technical assessment has to be undertaken again for the new stretch and I delayed the DPR preparation. Now DPR is ready and DMRC representatives are giving final touches.
