Concentrix Corp will serve over 10 industries from more than 50 cities

Visakhapatnam: IT companies may not have evinced interest to set up shop in Vizag though the new state government has been promoting the city as the new IT destination in a big way, but the ITES sector, particularly BPO or Business Process Management, and operations are seizing the opportunity. There are already more than half a dozen BPOs based in Vizag. And recently, in less than six months, two more BPOs of MNCs, already operating in the city, have announced expansion plans.
Concentrix Corporation, having operations in 24 countries, has just opened its second facility in Vizag, spread over 40,000 square feet. The company’s local headcount will now go up from the present 1,000 to 2,000. It has invested around Rs 6 crore in its new facility. “The reason for choosing Vizag is its diverse talent pool that has spelt success for our first facility which has been here since 2007. Culturally the locals are very committed to work, genuine and humble, which is the reason why we have planned to expand our operations in Vizag,” Concentrix India, country general manager Ravinder Singh Rana told this correspondent.
Concentrix Corp, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of New York Stock Exchange-listed Synnex Corporation, is also optimistic of further expanding their operations at Vizag. Mr Rana is also optimistic about the BPM sector growth in India despite competition from low cost destinations like the Phillippines and some Eastern European countries.
“Vizag has a bright future with the initiatives of the new government. We have conceived our expansion plans in January this year and within six months we could get all the first phase of the facility off the ground by getting all the approvals from the state government,” said Mr Rana.
